Why it is on my list
Luggage is a one-time buy that you only notice when it fails. Samsonite has local stock and 2-3 day delivery, which is why it is on my list.
Who it suits
- Anyone buying a suitcase or travel bag for trips
Who should skip it
- You rarely travel and an inexpensive bag will do
What is in it
- Luggage, backpacks, bags, accessories and labels.
- Spinner (four-wheel) cases in carry-on and larger sizes, including the C-LITE, Flatform and Proxis lines.
- An online-exclusive section and new arrivals.
- A Friends of Samsonite membership programme.
- Online orders delivered in 2-3 working days by premium courier, per the site.
How to start
- 01
Decide the size first: cabin bag or check-in.
- 02
Compare lines by weight and price, and check the airline's size limit.
- 03
Order online and check the warranty and returns pages.
Other options worth a look
Rimowa and Tumi sit higher on price. Delsey and American Tourister are common cheaper choices. Samsonite is the middle ground with a wide range and local shops.
What I would look at first
- 01
Check the size and weight limits of the airlines you fly.
- 02
Compare warranty terms between models.
- 03
Compare prices with other retailers.
